You become what you think about all day long.
Natalie had that quote in a presentation she was working on and it’s really made me think. What do I think about all day long? Well, I guess it depends on the day, but it’s almost always about computers or my future. What does that mean for me then? That I am going to become my future? That makes sense in the grand scheme of things, because of course I am going to become my future, but what exactly will that future hold? Hopefully love, happiness, success, and adventure. I want to do big things with my life and I hope that I’ll be able to accomplish all of the things I set out to do. I know I have the ability to, it’s just the other random things that get in the way – like time, money, school.
I don’t know what prompted me to go off on that little tangent, but yeah… just had to get it out there I guess.
What I really wanted to blog about was the fact that this site is desolate. No one comes here anymore. I’ve lost touch with everyone I used to talk to online through web sites, MBs, random visits, etc. I kind of miss it. I miss being able to go online at any point in the day and IMing someone in China to chat and see what time it was there. I miss having that “circle” of web design friends who all know each other and who all know each other’s websites inside and out. I don’t know if that age of intimacy in web design community is long gone, or if it’s MY age that’s causing the difference, but I really want it back.
That said, I’m now making it my mission to get this site back on “the map” again. I’ve put too much time into it over the years to have me and a few of my friends as the only visitors, the only people to read my blogs and see what other random content I’ve posted recently. So to those of you who stop by and just browse around, please leave a comment so I know that I’m not typing for an audience of no one.
Until next time…
*waves* hiiiiii! I read! :P still have you linked too :P
I’ve heard of Wayne Dyer before! He’s been on QVC…which I watch far more than anyone my age should. lol. And it’s good to know that I’m not the only one who feels like the webdesign community just isn’t the same anymore. I totally miss the way things used to be too. *sigh sigh*
hey! i completly know what you mean, i’ve lost touch with people and links and all the rest of it, so basically i’m just blogging to myself & a few irl regular visitors. i just wanted to say thanks for getting in contact again! such a nice surprise~ you’re totally right, we need to get back in the loop and Mere is right in saying the community isn’t what it was last year..or the year before that even!
take care~
Hello I just stopped by the first time and wanted to say you have a very nice webstie. I really like your title to your article “You Become What You Think About All Day Long” that is so true. You might like to check this little video of Napolean Hill talking about this very thing.
