10.31.2006 | Happy Halloween
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Today marks the beginning of my favorite time of year! I decided I wanted to dress up yesterday while I was at the mall. I made my costume for the first time ever - even the hat! I’m pretty proud of it…not to mention it’s reallllly comfortable! Not many people around here are dressed up, but I could care less! It’s way too much fun to pass up.
Lots to catch up on, but I have a splint on my left pinky (a run-in with a door) so typing right now isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Thanks to my last commenters! I’ll get back to you guys at some point today
until next time…
10.25.2006 | Study Abroad?
Hey! Thanks for the java comments! That project took FOREVER (and it didn’t help that I got distracted for a good 2 hours playing with those spirals once I got the program to work!) Hopefully I’ll be able to put some of this to use and learn some AJAX at some point.
I’ve been doing a lot of research for the possibility of me studying abroad next Fall. I was dead set on going to Spain, but once I found out I needed 2 more semesters of Spanish “just to be safe” I said to heck with it and settled on going somewhere in the UK. After going through the different options, I’m basically down to deciding between University of Edinburgh and University of Glasgow. I’m not sure if it’s all going to pan out yet. I still have to talk to people in all sorts of different departments, get all sorts of approvals, do applications, get accepted, make sure I can pay for it, etc. etc. etc. It would be REALLY cool to go though!
I can’t believe how quickly this last month has flown! It seems like yesterday I was blogging about my imminent entry to the world of adulthood, and now it’s almost time for me to go to Chicago! My plane ticket came in today. It’s pretty cool. I’ve never really been in charge of my own plane ticket before (as ridiculous as that sounds!) Looks like I’ll finally be able to cross another place off of my Wanna-be World Traveler page!
It almost snowed today, but it wasn’t cold enough (it was 34 deg.) so we only got some REALLY COLD wind and rain. I’m on the lookout and you can be sure I’m going to report it here as soon as it happens! We have a few more chances of snow this week. I just REALLY hope it doesn’t decide to snow for the first time while I’m in Chicago!
Other than that there’s not really much else that’s new. I’ve been completely swamped with work coming at me from all ends. I thought I would be able to recuperate this past weekend, but that didn’t end up happening. I’m still debating whether or not I want to go to AAW. Part of me realllly wants to go to hang out with some of the RYLA counselors, but the other part me couldn’t be bothered with spending nearly 2 full days on a bus to go there and back. We’ll see I guess.
I’ve uploaded some new photos to flickr, so enjoy! The fall colors are just about ready to give way to the winter starkness, so I figured I should get some shots in before it’s too late.
Time for bed! until next time…
10.20.2006 | Java is cool…
So java and I got off to a rough start, but I’m really starting to like it! Check out the spiral I made:

I know, it’s not much to you coder pros out there, but it’s a huge step for me

10.13.2006 | How?! Why?!

How am I going to stay awake through class now?!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I’ve finally settled into my new decade. It’s not so bad :D.
I’m definitely up for some snail-mail exchange, so email me if you’re interested!
Until next time…
10.08.2006 | Just a wee update…
Hey, just a quick little note to say I’ve survived my 20th birthday. No broken hips or failed organs. I guess age doesn’t set in THAT quickly.
It was a good day overall. My mom, grandma, and I went for hibachi, which is always fun. I had a (virgin) strawberry daiquiri (sp?) out of a budda…that was fun
I’m a bit more excited to celebrate with my friends once I get back to school though.
Also, just wanted to let you know I completely redid my book list page. Directly linked to Amazon now and a bit easier on the eyes if you ask me. What do you think?
I’m kind of bored, so I’m thinking I might make some more changes around here while I have the time. I’ve been contemplating running WordPress as a CMS instead of the structure I have now. I’m not up for reinstalling and manipulating the templates that much now though, so maybe over Thanksgiving or Winter Breaks…
Until next time…
