Let The RY-Season Begin!

Well folks, it’s that time of year again! Acceptance e-mails came in last week and the newbies are about to be added to the wiki. Yep, that’s right – RYLA is only 91 days away! For those of you who haven’t been following since my junior year of HS (a.k.a. ALL of you), RYLA is the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference. I went in 2004 and now I’m a counselor. It’s probably one of the best places in the world — right up there with Disney. I really love the RYLA time of year. Even though it’s still months away, just the anticipation of that week makes me so happy and excited! This year will be my first time as a Small Group Counselor which means I’ll be responsible for leading a group of about 15-ish students. HUUGGGEEE responsibility! I’m nervous already! I know it’ll be great, but wow… it’s still just hitting me!

I know that probably none of you even remotely understand what I’m saying because it’s one of those “you have to experience it to get it” sort of deals, but I’m sure there’s something in your life you could relate it to. I’m just really excited and I thought I’d share. Heck, it is my blog after all. :)

Until next time…

  1. finding something your so passionate about is awesome, your group of kids are gonna have a blast

  2. Aw, its nice to see someone so excited about that, it sounds like you’re doing great work. I am not as motivated, let me tell you. But congrats to you on that as well as your photo in the paper from last time :D
