08.29.2007 | “The Perfect Meal”
Since I’m living in an apartment this year, I’ve been doing a lot more cooking. Actually, I’ve been cooking. Considering I didn’t cook at ALL last year, it’s not really fair to say I’m doing more of it! My friend April and I were talking about what we would love to cook to create the perfect dinner. If we could have any combination of foods, what would we make?
After a few days of debating and reading recipes we settled on Jamba Juice-inspired Razzmatazz smoothies, a salad with apples, walnuts, carrots, and our favorite dressings, lemon pepper chicken over rice pilaf, and for dessert, a peach blueberry crumble.
Easier said than done. Although the meal was completely edible, we managed to royally screw up the crumble. The rice was a little dry, as was the chicken. But all in all, it was a fun experience and we definitely learned a lot for next time.
We also produced a LOT of dirty dishes. I figured only video evidence would make people believe how bad the mess actual was. Enjoy!
UPDATE: April posted her own reaction to our dinner! Lessons learned.
08.28.2007 | The Spaz Factor
So, despite my compulsive list making, my 3 different calendar systems, my email reminders, etc. I sometimes STILL manage to completely forget things. Important things. Things that also take a while to reverse. Things like renewing my domain.
Now, this SAME thing happened last year, or the year before. I didn’t seem to process the fact that ANNIVERSARY also means EXPIRATION DATE! I remembered this year, but for some reason the date I had on my calendar didn’t match the actual date. Which I swear I checked many, many times.
It took a while for me to sort things out with the registrar and now I’m moving over to GoDaddy. (I had originally registered this domain through Netrillium when I was hosted with them.) Now it’s completely under my control. No more expirations. I hope.
In the process of completely screwing up, I managed to also miss my 5th Anniversary post. Which is OK, because I really don’t know what to post about. I’m still brainstorming that, so I think I may include it in a post I do sometime around my birthday in October. We’ll see.
Until next time…hopefully without downtime this time.
08.19.2007 | The Stone Age
I’m all moved into my apartment back at school, but the internet hasn’t been hooked up yet. I swear, the powers that be are trying to tell me something! First the Internet disappeared in my apartment in San Francisco, then I get here and they haven’t even put the ethernet jacks in the walls yet!
We also didn’t have a stove until yesterday. We cavewomen. We build fire. Well, not really. We just didn’t eat in the apartment ;).
Hopefully things will be up and running by Monday or Tuesday then I can get back to posting. Meanwhile, I’m still trying to come up with some things to write for my 5th anniversary week. Time’s ticking!
Don’t think I’ll be getting any posts up until I can get online in my room. Until then, you can listen to me on Yodel Anecdotal.
Until then…

08.15.2007 | I’ve Been Podcasted!
A couple of weeks ago, a few interns and I had the chance to sit down in a really cool studio (but that could just be my super nerdiness kicking in) and record a podcast about music and the Internet. It was a lot of fun and the discussion was really interesting. Check it out on Yodel Anecdotal, Yahoo!’s corporate blog.
