Well, I’m back to school. My 6th semester at Cornell has begun. With the exception of a particular class that will probably bring me to tears on more than one occasion (CS 211 - Java…), I think it’s going to be a good semester. I’m taking CS211 “Computers and Programming”, INFO320 “New Media & Society”, INFO365 “Technology in Collaboration”, and AEM210 “Introductory Statistics”. I’m also planning on taking INFO490 which is an independent study course. I have a meeting later this week to sort that out. Overall, my professors seem great and the course content seems great (again, except for 211), so I’m really looking forward to getting into the semester. I’m also looking forward to reading “As We May Think” for the 5th or 6th time. :\ Professors should really have a chat about this sort of thing. There are only so many times you want to read the same article!

I got my wisdom teeth out on Tuesday. All 4 of them. They’ve been bothering me for a while now and 2 of them, though impacted, were also erupted, so I was desperate to get them out before I went back to school. Unfortunately, I got whacked with a cold just after Christmas, so I had to postpone their removal until last week.

The surgery itself was cake. I don’t remember a second of it thanks to nitrous oxide and a bit of IV stuff. The aftermath wasn’t all that enjoyable, but I’m mostly back to normal now. I still haven’t eaten anything solid, which isn’t that fun, but I’m almost there. I can’t wait to have chicken, or rice, or, well, anything that can be chewed! My guess is that I’ll be back to 100% by this weekend. (more…)

I really hate it when I feel like I can be very productive, but I’ve already done everything that I need to do! Like right now, for instance, I feel like I have enough energy and brainpower to crank out a brand new website or redo something that could use some updating, but I’m idea-less. If only my creativity would manage to align with my internal clock so I could do something useful! Until then, I guess I’ll just keep playing blockles
