Back to School
It seems that since I’ve been doing a recap of my day along with my Project 365 that I end up with less to write about here. I’ll have to figure out how to fix that in future weeks. To keep things succinct: 1 sentence for each day of last week:
Sunday: Learned what music sounds like when it’s coming out of real speakers = wonderful.
Monday: Had lunch with Andrea in Asbury Park and caught up on the last year or so.
Tuesday: Had lunch with Alex and Maya at the Hummus Place in NYC followed by Pinkberry.
Wednesday: Had a really awesome sandwich from Bayonne. (I’m sensing a trend…)
Thursday: Found out I had a 10-page paper due 13 hours after the deadline so I pulled an all-nighter and submitted at 7AM on Friday.
Friday: Spend morning writing paper, slept, watched CSI and Back to the Future, slept, and slept some more.
Saturday: Ithaca-bound.
Which brings me up to speed. I drove back to Ithaca on Saturday – a drive I really dread because it’s boring and dreary. Along the way though, I realized that it could quite possibly be the last time I have to make that drive. EVER. Wow. That really threw me for a loop. Though I’ve been counting down to graduation since somewhere around 700 days, and I know it’s getting closer, every once in a while it just really hits me. I can’t believe I’m in my last semester. The classes I have this semester could be the last I ever take. I feel like there’s still so much I need to do!
I didn’t really want come back this semester. A bunch of my friends had graduated in December and some more had gone abroad. I felt kind of like I was left behind and that I was so ready to move on. Luckily, though, once I got back, got settled into my room, and saw some of my other friends, everything seems to have fallen back into place. It was nice to see everyone again. It was even better to have human subjects to try out my new lighting setup with.
The good news though, is that I’m set to have the best. semester. ever. That’s right. I’m going to be a true senior, so much so that I’m getting TV installed in our apartment because I am going to do things like watch LOST with friends or maybe I’ll play Rock Band or try this cool thing called sleep (though I’m not doing very well with that one, it’s currently 3:15AM). Matt has started training as Photo Editor so my work there is pretty minimal these days. And the icing on the cake? I only have classes 3 days/week. That’s right. I only have THREE days in my week. The rest of them are Saturdays. I’m really excited. It’s the first time that I’m going to get to be a “normal” college student. It’s going to take some adjusting, but I think this lifestyle and I will get along just fine. It’s all blue skies from here on out, I say.
