Reliving My Childhood Christmases

The other day I was looking through NetFlix to find some movies to get me in the holiday spirit. There are the good ole (modern) standbys: Serendipity, The Holiday, Love Actually, but they weren’t quite what I was looking for.

After wracking my brain to try to remember some movies I watched when I was younger, it occurred to me – the movies I was thinking of were on VHS. I hadn’t watched them in at least a decade!

So I called my mom. “Mom, you know that box in the garage with all of the old VHSes? Do you know if my old Christmas movies are in it?” She set about digging through the box. She found one. It wasn’t the one I was looking for, but it was all I needed to get started and follow the web of links on YouTube, Archive.org, Google, and wherever else until I found all of the videos I was looking for. All except for that original one.

The movie I’m looking for is in black and white. The only part my mom and I can piece back together is the part where the father brings home the Christmas tree and as he’s setting it up in the living room he falls off of the ladder. That’s all I can remember of the movie itself, but I remember watching it over and over again for years as a child. If you have any idea of what I’m talking about, please please please let me know. I’ve searched every corner of the internet to no avail. According to my mom our VHS tape doesn’t have any identifying information on it and we don’t have a VCR anymore to test it! Please help me put my curiosity to rest!

In the process of looking for that one video, I stumbled across a bunch of videos I hadn’t even realized I’d forgotten. As soon as the first few notes or the opening screen popped up I was rushed right back to being 6 years old in my living room in front of the TV as my mom was putting up the Christmas decorations. Ahh the memories.

I Still Wannabe A Spice Girl

It finally happened. I finally got to see the Spice Girls LIVE in concert!
When I first heard tickets were on sale for dates in NJ, I jumped on them. The excitement has been building ever since. I rarely get excited about things – mostly because I don’t like to set myself up for disappointment. [...]

A Look Back At 2007

2007 has been one of the best years of my life. I thought that I’d take a look back at the year and all of the great adventures I’ve had.
